The churros are Spanish pastries. They come in the form of a fried dough in the shape of “big spaghetti” or an elongated donut that is sweetened according to taste. They are often sold in fairs, in chocolate shops or in churrerias.
Ingredients (4 people):
200g of flour 1 beaten egg Oil for frying 48g of sunflower oil or 4 tablespoons of oil 20g of sugar + sugar to put on the churros 1.5g of salt
Mix the flour, salt and sugar on a plate. Boil 25 cl of water in a saucepan with oil.
Pour the flour mixture in and mix well with a wooden spoon to form a firm dough, then let cool 2 min. Add the egg little by little. Oil a large baking sheet.
Put the dough in a piping bag with a 1 cm tip and draw small spirals on the baking sheet. Pour a lot of sugar on a plate.
In a skillet, heat 5 cm of oil. The dough must sizzle. With a greased spatula, dip several pieces of dough into the oil and brown them.
Drain the donuts on paper towels and roll them in the sugar. Cook the other churros and serve immediately.
